Daniel has Played Many Diverse Roles throughout His Career
Daniel Craig was not always such a household name, he starred in many unsuccessful productions before he made a breakthrough. After appearing in some low-key British shows, he made his big-screen debut with The Power of One in 1992, after which he began to get roles in American productions as well. For example, he then went on to appear briefly in TV shows like The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and Zorro. More popular British shows he continued to make cameos in included Heartbeat, Between the Lines, and Drop the Dead Donkey. The 1996 BBC drama serial called Our Friends in the North, is widely agreed upon as being Daniel’s breakthrough role.
Daniel is most well-known for playing James Bond, despite the fact that his initial casting as Bond was met with much skepticism and doubt. The release of Casino Royale quickly proved critics wrong and made Daniel’s Bond a fan favorite. That being said, his body of work extends far past playing 007. Some of Daniel’s best non-James Bond roles have been in the following movies: hits like Steven Spielberg’s Munich; the gangster movie, Layer Cake; the Oscar-nominated WW2 movie, Defiance; and others here and there, like Road to Perdition and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. A pre-fame Daniel Craig also starred in the historical biopic, Elizabeth – alongside big names like Cate Blanchett.
Daniel Sings in the Movie Infamous
Infamous is a 2006 movie and a sequel to the previous year’s Capote – in this installation Truman Capote, played by Toby Jones, ends up getting close to a couple of convicted murderers as he is researching his latest novel. Daniel Craig plays the latter of these criminals, Perry Smith. In one scene, Daniel’s character plays the guitar while singing one of the film’s soundtracks – Goldmines in the Sky. This is where Daniel Craig effectively shows off his singing chops; he sang the entire scene himself!
Daniel Craig is all set to return as James Bond in 2020’s No Time to Die, even though he notoriously spoke out once about being sick of playing 007. Speaking to the Guardian about returning as Bond for the fifth time, Daniel said, “I’d rather slash my wrists. No [I don’t want to play Bond], not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.” Still, he must have changed his mind, because No Time to Die marks his fifth time playing James Bond!
