Popular YouTuber Cole LaBrant is known for filming videos with his family in his large, luxurious home. How did he make his money?
Cole LaBrant and his friends entered a dance competition on Vine, in 2013. The competition saw them achieve almost instant popularity. The friends created the Vine channel “Dem White Boyz.” LaBrant shared his first YouTube video in 2015 and since then has been a popular YouTube creator, from which he makes money with ad revenue.
Let’s further explore the life of Cole LaBrant, as well as how he made his fortune.
The Beginnings of Cole LeBrant
Cole LaBrant was born on August 21, 1996. He grew up in Troy, Alabama, and has four brothers and one sister.
When he was 17, Cole and his friends entered a dance competition on Vine (now a defunct video sharing platform, similar to TikTok), as a joke.
In an interview with YouTuber Zachary Fu, Cole revealed:
“We were all spending the night at John Stephen’s house. We see a dance contest. It’s all girls entering the Vine contest, and we’re like, ‘This is so dumb. How funny would it be if we entered it, guys?’”
The three friends—Cole, Baylor Barnes and John Stephen Grice—entered the contest. Although they didn’t win, the video they made gained them 100,000 followers on Vine in just one week.
Dem White Boyz
The new-found popularity came as a shock to the friends, but they decided to cash in on the opportunity and created a collective Vine channel, which they named “Dem White Boyz.”

After the success of their new channel, the friends began attending major events for Viners and were getting a lot of attention in the Vine community.
Cole’s friends decided the fame was too much for them to handle and backed out of Dem White Boyz, leaving the channel to Cole in 2015.
Solo Career and YouTube
Most of the followers remained loyal to Cole, despite the departure of the other group members.
Wishing to further his online success, in 2015, Cole published his first video on YouTube. In the humorous video, Cole asks celebrity singer Selena Gomez to attend his prom with him.
Although the star declined to attend (or even respond to the invitation), the video kicked off Cole’s popularity on YouTube. Watch the video:
However, Cole faced a setback when a hacking attack deleted pictures from his social media accounts, causing some followers to leave.
After being locked out of his accounts for a week, Cole decided to make a shift in the kind of content he was putting out. He opted to share more details about his Christain faith with his followers.
In the same interview with Zachery Fu, he explained:
“Making the transition from being a secular social media person to a Christian social media person, it was tough. Because people knew you for dancing, or making funny videos, and now you’re talking about Jesus.”
Despite his fears, the majority of his followers stuck by Cole and some even commended Cole for sharing more intimate details with his fans.
Meeting His Wife
Cole met his wife, Savannah, through the app Musical.ly. The pair briefly messaged in a non-romantic way, before meeting by chance in Los Angeles, and then beginning to date, in 2016.
Not too long afterwards, in the beginning of 2017, Cole proposed and Savannah accepted. Six months later, the couple were married.
As part of the ceremony, Cole wrote vows for Savannah’s daughter, Everleigh, who was 4 years old at the time. Watch the heart-warming video:
On December 28, 2018, Cole and Savannah’s daughter was born, who they named Posie Rayne LaBrant.
The LaBrant Fam
Cole and his wife now run a YouTube channel called The LaBrant Fam, which has over 12 million followers.
They tend to share a couple YouTube videos a week and the videos regularly achieve several million views, which will be where the majority of their wealth stems from.
Net Worth
The LeBrant family’s net worth is estimated to be around $12 million—not bad for a career which began as a joke.
