Singer of “hot girl bummer,” blackbear, has had mainstream success in recent years. Is he on a plant-based diet?
From the evidence available, it appears that blackbear is vegan. Replying to a Twitter status about Reese’s chocolates, blackbear said, “most missed non vegan food,” in May of 2020, implying that the singer is in fact vegan. Ellie Goulding also said blackbear is vegan, in an interview in July 2020.
Let’s look further into the limited evidence of blackbear’s plant-based diet.
Ellie Goulding said he is
In a short interview for Postmates, Ellie Goulding talked about what she would send to some of her collaborators from vegetarian restaurants. For blackbear, Ellie said:
“As blackbear is vegan, I’d send him something from Crossroads [restaurant]. Probably the Kale Caesar salad—everyone has to try that at some point in their lives! Or the Impossible Cigars[—a faux-meat, cigar shaped treat].”
He implied it on Twitter
Here we can see blackbear replying to aspiring singer, Alexander 23’s tweet, about finishing off some Reese’s chocolates.
Animal rights organization, PETA, then replies to blackbear’s tweet, saying “Have you tried
@Justins #vegan Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups? […] All of our fave candies can be veganized.”
blackbear then replies, “u guys always have my back.”
What’s the verdict?
From this somewhat limited evidence, it does seem likely that the singer is indeed vegan.
Although blackbear has not come out and made an explicit statement from the horse’s (bear’s?) mouth, the evidence does suggest he does not indulge in animal products.
Ellie Goulding’s assertion that her collab pal is on a strictly plant-based diet, combined with blackbear’s comments on Twitter indicate that the singer is vegan.
