In the early hours of November 30, 2013, news broke that Paul Walker had perished in a fiery car crash along with Roger Rodas. Did he leave a wife behind?
Paul Walker was never married. In 1998, his one-time girlfriend Rebecca Soteros gave birth to his daughter Meadow Rain Walker who lived with him from 2011 until his death in 2013. He became engaged to Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell in 2008 and they remained engaged until his death. His relationship with Pilchard-Gosnell was controversial due to the fact he started dating her when she was 16.
Scroll down to read more about Paul Walker’s dating history, his daughter Meadow, and his other love: cars.
Paul Walker’s Dating History Controversy
The Fast and Furious star has been known as an all-around great guy. He loved cars, the ocean, animals, and helping out other people.
One thing that did seem to be pushed under the rug about this celebrity was his habit of dating women who were still in their teens. Since his death in 2013, many different news outlets have pointed out that the star dated more than one sixteen-year-old.
In an article from April 2020, Alexander Pan at GOAT pointed out that Paul Walker’s history of dating teenage girls should not be forgotten. In the article, they make two main points.
One point is that Walker technically broke California law, where the age of consent is eighteen, by dating not only Pilchard-Gosnell when she was 16, but Aubrianna Atwell as well. The second point was that there is no concrete proof that he had sexual relations with either when they started dating.
No one likes to speak ill of the dead, but as Pan puts it “leaving out darker aspects of someone’s past just to paint them in a good light does everyone an untruthful disservice.”
Another media outlet that addressed this side of Walker’s life was Jalopnik journalist Kristen Lee. Lee scrutinizes the documentary about Walker’s life, I am Paul Walker, for not touching on this topic.
Kristen Lee also points out that while the documentary had interviews with a lot of people close to him, it excluded interviews with his noted best friend Vin Diesel, his daughter Meadow, and his fiance Jasmine.
However, she does reiterate that Paul Walker was highly-respected in the industry and almost anyone who met him said “he was the nicest, most down-to-earth guy you’d ever know, happy to stop and chat cars for as long as possible.”
You can watch Paul Walker talking about visiting Norway, his first car, and being older in a 2011 interview for Fast Five in the below video.
Walker’s Daughter Meadow Rain Walker
After his death in 2013, Paul Walker didn’t just leave behind his fiance, he also left behind his daughter Meadow. He had Meadow with his 1998 girlfriend Rebecca Soteros.
When Paul passed away, Rebecca and Walker’s mother Cheryl went through a very public and messy custody battle over Meadow. This was because Cheryl said that Rebecca had a drinking problem, but she would drop the case if Soteros attended rehab.
While he was still alive, Walker was very close to his daughter and she had been living with him for the two years prior to his death. On what would have been his 47th birthday, she shared a photo from her childhood on Instagram of her and her dad together.
Since his death, Meadow Walker founded and now runs The Paul Walker Foundation. Its mission is to help preserve the ocean and the environment in the same way that her father was doing while he was still alive.
Paul Walker’s Love of Cars
Throughout his life, Paul Walker had another love other than the women who surrounded him. That love was for cars.
It would make sense that one of the stars from the most famous car movie franchise, Fast & Furious, was a car aficionado. His car collection spanned five decades and was comprised of over twenty cars.
While you may have expected this car collection to be filled with supercars like Lamborghini’s or Porsche’s, Walker was more of a fan of classic muscle cars and suped-up racecars. He had a very extensive collection of BMW M3’s.
In 2019, his estate auctioned off twenty-one of the cars from his extensive collection. This included five 1995 BMW M3’s, but the M3 wasn’t his favorite car.
His brother Cody still has the bright red Toyota Supra that was quite possibly Paul Walker’s favorite car of all.
