Daniel Craig is widely known for his unique portrayal of the iconic film role, James Bond. With his uber-masculine appearance, it would be interesting to know what perfume he wears.
Fans speculate that Daniel Craig wears TOM FORD Tobacco Vanille, a multifaceted fragrance that is evocative of an old-world gentleman. It is eau de parfum and comes in a chess piece-shaped bottle and retails for about $270-$365.
Just from its name, the perfume seems to be a perfect fit for the James Bond actor. The opulent essence of tobacco counter-balanced by warm vanilla just screams masculinity with sophistication.
But did you know that Craig has a perfume named after him? We’ll talk about that, a little background on the man himself, and his upcoming projects in this article.
Whatever It Takes
Around 2013, fragrance brand Whatever It Takes launched a perfume for men inspired by Daniel Craig. It had a clean scent perfect for everyday wear. The scent is a blend of citrus and spice.
The company, though, has discontinued production of the perfume, but some retailers online seem to have some of it in stock.
Whatever It Takes released other celebrity-inspired fragrances, which include Kanye West, George Clooney, and Serena Williams, among a few others.
Humble Beginnings
Before he became the actor to play the iconic international playboy spy that we know of him today, Craig first started acting in school plays as a child.
With much support from his art teacher mother, Carol Olivia, Craig left school and pursued an acting career at 16 years old. He joined the National Youth Theater in 1984 and debuted in the London staging of William Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida.
From 1988 until 1994, he was with Guildhall School of Music and Drama. And in 1996, he had his breakthrough role playing George “Geordie” Peacock, together with Christopher Eccleston, Gina McKee and Mark Strong in a BBC drama, Our Friends From The North.
On Being James Bond
From 2000 to 2008, Craig has been cast in a string of supporting roles in both theater and film. But by 2005, he was launched to international stardom for the role of James Bond.
Industry insiders may have given this new James Bond quite a start for he was heavily criticized for his physique and rugged appeal.
Audiences and critics alike had an expectation for the playboy spy to look suave, devilishly sexy, and especially refined, with dark hair. Can’t blame them, as his older predecessors–Pierce Brosnan, just to name one–did set the bar high.
But truth be told, Daniel Craig successfully resurrected the role into a gritty, raw character that women still would swoon over and men would look up to. He truly owned the character and much kudos to his acting for that.
No Time To Die is the last installment of the film franchise and was released in 2021. The movie made a total of $774.2 Million at the box office and Craig was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next to the star of Roger Moore, a fellow Bond actor back in the ‘70s-’80s.
Life Beyond Bond
Craig initially had doubts about accepting the role of James Bond, perhaps for fear of being typecast afterward. Good thing he pushed beyond the fear, as he continues to show audiences the range of his acting talent, onscreen and onstage.
In 2022, Daniel Craig joined the Broadway production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth with Ruth Negga. However, performances have been canceled due to Craig’s testing positive for COVID-19.
Marriage and Family
Now on to his personal life.
Daniel is married to his wife of 11 years, Rachel Weisz. The two British actors got romantically linked while filming the psychological thriller Dream House together, along with Naomi Watts and Marton Csokas.
The couple gained a blended family in each other, with Craig having a daughter from a previous marriage and Weisz a son with her ex-fiancee, Darren Aronofsky.
The two A-listers wed on June 22, 2011, in a very private ceremony attended by only 4 people, comprised of their 2 children and 2 family friends. Weisz and Craig share a daughter together.
Upcoming Projects
The Bond star may have been on a career hiatus for now, but we expect great things to come from Daniel Craig in the near future.
Screenrant says that he will work on both heavy and light-hearted materials. One project that is in the works is the sequel to Knives Out–Netflix has purchased the rights for not one, but two sequels.
Craig will be back onscreen as detective Benoit Blanc, but with a totally different cast. No announcements of the exact date of release have been made.
