Post Malone. A famous American singer-songwriter that has made waves over the last few decades with his original music style that has touched the hearts of millions. However, while enjoying his free time, he’s also an avid NFL fan, but which team does he support?
Post Malone’s favorite NFL team is, by far, the Dallas Cowboys. Of course, this is because Post is from Texas himself, where he was born, and his father, Rich Post, was the manager of concessions for the team, which means Post would surely have been involved with the team from a young age.
With all this in mind, today we’re going to dive into Post Malone’s love for his favorite NFL team, exploring how much he loves them and what his life was like growing up around them. Let’s get started.
His Love for the Dallas Cowboys
All the way back in 2004, when Malone was just nine years old, he moved from his hometown to Grapevine, Texas, when his father secured his job as the manager of concessions for the Dallas Cowboys team. This meant that his father was responsible for all the food and drinks that were served during the Cowboy’s games.
Being invited to join a Maverick’s game, and certainly his father loving the Cowboys himself would have firmly secured Malone’s love for the NFL team, of which he has been a follower all of his life.
Fast forward from Malone’s teenage years, after all the success and fame that has been made along the way, and you’ll find Post showing his love for his favorite team in more extravagant ways. Back in 2019, Malone bought a new chain to commemorate his love for the team.
That blue star piece around Post’s neck was masterfully crafted by Angel City Jewellers, based in LA, which includes a massive 3,000 stones, tons of 13.5 of sapphires, and 8.7 carats of diamonds, which is just insane. On the back, there’s a ‘77’ inscription, which is known as being Post’s favorite number.
So, how much did this piece of bling cost? An incredible $250,000. That should go to show just how dedicated Malone is to his favorite team.
The Rise of Post Malone
So, Post loves his team and shows it off in a big way, but how did he get to a point where he can even afford to spend $250k on a necklace to show it off?
Well, Post has loved music from a very young age. Before his father moved to become the manager of concessions, he was a DJ, and this introduced Post to a ton of music genres, including country, rock, and hip hop.
This is what inspired Malone to want to follow his own career in music, creating and writing his own based and influenced by the music he had listened to his entire life. As a kid, he also loved playing the Guitar Hero video game, which he adored, and eventually convinced his mother to buy him a guitar, which she did.
He practiced hard and wrote lots of songs, and eventually when he was 14, he came up with the name Post Malone, which he used as his actual last name “Post,” and used a rap name generator to come up with the ‘Malone’ aspect.
He also auditioned for the American band named Crown the Empire back in 2010, but his guitar string broke, and he didn’t get the role. With where Malone went next, that was probably for the best.
Fast forward to the age of 16, Malone created his first mixtape, which he named Young and After Them Riches, and showed to his classmates, who ultimately voted him ‘most likely to be famous’. He enrolled at Tarrant County College but dropped out to move to Los Angeles.
He recorded music with a music group called BLCKVRD and worked with them to record his first single and recorded a music video which was titled ‘White Iverson’, and if you’re a long-time fan of Post Malone, then you’ll already know that this was a track that snowballed Post to the heights of fame and success he is known for today.
The single received praise from high-end rappers and musicians like Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller, which certainly helped him set the foundation on which his career is founded upon. After hitting over one million views on his music video within a month of releasing White Iverson, he was signed up by contract with Republic Records, and the rest is history.
Post has now been on multiple tours around the US, performed as the opening act for huge acts like Justin Bieber, and has appeared in movies, including the hit movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. With Post being so young, we can only assume there are plenty more big things going to come from this amazing guy, and we’re excited to see it unfold.
