Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., known by his stage names T.I. and T.I.P., is an American rapper, songwriter and record executive amongst many other things. He signed his first big record deal in 1999 with LaFace – an Arista subsidiary, and has since produced many albums, some of which have reached the top five of Billboard 200; but what was T.I’s first song?
Released in June of 2001, T.I.’s first song was I’m Serious. His debut single didn’t receive much airplay so it didn’t appear on the charts. Since then, T.I. has had many Billboard hits and has collaborated with many big artists including Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Lil Wayne, and Destiny’s Child to name a few.
You can read more below about T.I.’s biggest hits on Billboard and the big names he has collaborated with to achieve his fair share of number one hits.

In 2006, T.I. scored his first number one as a featured artist on Timberlake’s single My Love. The single went on to become a chart-topping hit on three other charts, including the Mainstream Top 40, Hot Dance Airplay and Hot Digital Singles. Additionally, it was a popular hit outside America as it appeared on the charts of 14 different countries around Europe.
Whatever You Like – T.I.
Two years after his first number one hit on the chart as a featured artist, T.I. landed his first number one hit as a solo artist with Whatever You Like released as the lead single of his sixth album “Paper Trail”. T.I.’s sixth studio album was his third chart-topping album on Billboard 200 and it generated 568,000 sales in one week making it T.I.’s biggest sales week with his record label Grand Hustle.
Live Your Life – T.I. ft. Rihanna
Just months after landing his first number one hit with Whatever You Like, T.I. did it again with his third chart-topping hit Live Your Life featuring fan-favorite songstress, Rihanna.
Before his collaboration with Robin Thicke in 2013, Live Your Life was T.I.’s most successful single worldwide after attaining a position in the top ten in 12 other countries while reaching the top five in five of those countries.
Blurred Lines – Robin Thicke ft. T.I. & Pharrell
Just half a decade later, in 2013, T.I. landed his fourth number-one single on Billboard 100 with Blurred Lines; moreover, the controversial single reached number one in at least 25 countries. As one of the best-selling singles of all time, 14.8 million copies of Blurred Lines were sold in 2013.
Dead & Gone – T.I. ft. Justin Timberlake
While T.I.’s single Dead & Gone didn’t top Billboard 100, it’s arguably still one of his best hits after soaring to number two on Billboard 100 in 2009. Dead & Gone even charted on Billboard before its official release due to high volumes of downloads.
Soldier – Destiny’s Child ft. T.I. & Lil Wayne
The 2005 single Soldier from Destiny’s Child’s fourth album “Destiny Fulfilled” reached number three on Billboard 100, and it’s another great hit that T.I. features in. In an interview before its release, Beyoncé said that the group was fans of T.I. and Lil Wayne, so it was only natural to include them in the song which is said to have a Southern feel to it.
