You might know Bridgette Doremus from her Instagram, where she has shared over a thousand photos while amassing a substantial fan base, but who is she?
Bridgette Feurstein (whose maiden name is Doremus) is the wife of the prominent rapper NF (Nathan Feurstein). She is an Instagram personality who gained popularity from uploading workout tutorials and inspirational quotes.
If you’re interested in learning more about NF’s sweetheart, Bridgette then you’re in the right place. Keep reading below to find out more.
Fitness Inspired by her Father
Bridgette Christine Doremus was born in the summer of 1990. At age 22, Bridgette had started studying Hospitality Business Management at Washington State University, but just a year later tragedy hit as her father passed away after a drug overdose in 2013.
Throughout her life, Bridgette has admitted having inner difficulties and personal challenges related to her weight. On her fitness website Stripped Fitness, founded in 2013, Bridgette recalls how she gained weight after she pushed her health to the side in college when everything was busy and pretty overwhelming for her.
She mentions that as a result of a strict calorie counted diet combined with workouts twice a day, she managed to lose weight, but she was still unsatisfied. She realized that she was in a state of constant apprehension and worry, and notes that being skinny felt too hard.
In the end, Bridgette ended up gaining the weight she had worked so hard to lose. Upon noticing her father’s unhealthy eating habits and his crash dieting when he showed up to her graduation, Bridgette was inspired to forge a healthy lifestyle.
She says, “When I graduated from Washington State University I decided to start fresh and begin to live the life that I had always dreamed of having.”
“When I lost my father in June of 2013 my whole world was rocked, I thought that my life would never be full again.” She adds. “I didn’t get a chance to save my father’s life but I know that I can make a change in YOURS.”
She’s a Vegetarian
A few years on, she launched her second website Halfway Hippie. On there, she describes herself as a halfway hippie. “I would like to say I am a hippie HALF the time and the other half the time I am vegging out on my couch watching Bravo reality TV.” There’s also a mention of her vegetarianism earlier on.
In 2018, vegetarians and vegans made up 8% of the world. Additionally, according to this blog, plant-based foods experienced an 8.1% growth in 2018, and these diets have been becoming trends in much of the Western world.
There are many reasons why people become veggies, ranging from health reasons to ethical ones. Some believe meat can cause heart disease, while others don’t agree with the way livestock are brutally slaughtered and the conditions in which these animals live (often overcrowded pens in conditions that would promote weight gain).
Bridgette additionally follows a gluten-free diet. Some people follow gluten-free diets because they have celiac disease which prevents them from being able to consume gluten due to negative immune responses. Meanwhile, other people choose to follow gluten-free diets because they don’t think gluten is entirely necessary (which, it isn’t as it doesn’t provide any necessary nutrients) and they’re trying to shed the pounds.
Researchers have estimated that perhaps as high as 6% of the entire population follows a gluten-free diet due to gluten sensitivity, however there haven’t been any definitive figures to back this up.
Happily Married
In 2018, following a few years in a long-distance relationship with NF, the couple got married. As a tribute to Bridgette’s father, the couple ignited fireworks after their wedding ceremony to commemorate her beloved father.
Bridgette often shares pictures of her and her husband on her Instagram profile.
