Joey Klaasen is an American social media star who’s a prominent TikTok creator and YouTuber. He’s famous for being the younger brother of Jon Klaasen, a pop singer and songwriter from Greenwood, Indiana.

TikTok Star
Joey Klaasen was studying medical sciences at the University of Cincinnati when his friends encouraged him to give TikTok a go. Joey said in an interview with Out Now Magazine, that his friends referred to TikTok as “like the new wave of social media”, and so he thought he’d see what the fuss was about.
What started as making funny videos in his spare time soon became serious, and Joey’s videos were frequently going viral. Whilst he knew his online popularity was blowing up, Joey says that at first “it was all just numbers” explaining, “I didn’t really think of it being individual people who know who I am and support me.”
He’s now incredibly conscious of the life-changing support his fans have given him, frequently taking to his online platforms to share his love for his fans.
Joey is represented by agency Talent X, which focuses specifically on TikTok creators and also represents the likes of Josh Richards and Quinton Griggs.
Michael Senzer, one of the agency’s executives, says “TikTokers are extremely savvy. They know exactly what will resonate with their audience. They can almost guarantee a certain level of engagement. They process information so quickly. It’s insane.”
Joey’s advice to aspiring TikTokers? “I would say either try to come up with something completely original or take a concept or trend that is already known and change it and make it your own somehow. Honestly, the main thing which is pretty cliche but true is to be different. Don’t be like everyone else.”

His Brother’s Fame
Whilst Joey has his own growing fanbase, it was his brother, Jon, who first held the limelight.
Jon, who is just under a year older than Joey, is a talented singer and musician whose passion has led him to being a contestant on multiple reality TV competition shows.
The singer has competed on ‘The X Factor’, ‘American Idol’ and ‘Boy Band’, and told Celeb Mix that “X Factor was good experience wise” because it “threw me into the industry”.
Whilst his focus is firmly on his music, social media is also a huge part of Jon’s life and career, and plays a big role in how he releases his music to his fans.
Like his brother, Jon is hugely aware of how much his fans have helped his career, and told Tonight Mag, “I want to be very clear about how much they mean to me! Everything I write they have helped inspire”.
Social Media Siblings
After finishing his first year at college, Joey made the decision to pack in his medical sciences studies and move to California to live with Jon, who was already living and working in the sunshine state.
The pair are both a massive part of each other’s lives and, according to Joey, love to play sports and be around nature.
Joey started his YouTube channel in the summer of 2019 and whilst they have separate YouTube channels, they regularly create content together.
They’re super close, and in a post on Instagram for National Sibling Day, Joey said to Jon, “I am literally so lucky to have you as my brother. All the laughs and memories we’ve shared I will forever cherish in my heart. Thank you for always being there for me and being my day one”.
