When you’re busy running multiple companies, time management becomes more of an important issue in your daily routine. There are several ways in which someone can keep track of their schedule, and when they need to move on to the next task or meeting. What about Elon Musk? He’s been known to lose track of time and keeps going. So how does he stay on task, does Elon Musk wear a watch?
No – at least he doesn’t the majority of the time. He is often photographed without wearing a watch, or any kind of jewelry or accessory. That’s not to say he never wears watches, it’s just that on most days, he doesn’t.
Elon Musk is fairly laid back, as far as billionaire CEOs go, when it comes to his fashion choices. He’s often seen in just a t-shirt and jeans, with a pair of sneakers on his feet. Nothing extra such as in the form of a watch, chain, earrings, or other jewelry or accessories. This look is his weekend outfit, and his work outfit, and sometimes his appearance outfit.
Watch Brands
He has been seen wearing watches, such as Omega Aqua Terra, Parmigiani, and more recently a TAG Heuer, which a SpaceX rocket on the front and on the back.
The model of the watch was a celebration of the collaboration between SpaceX and TAG Heuer, in addition to marking the 50th anniversary of the Americans landing on the moon. The face of the watch is modeled after the face of the watch John Glenn was wearing when, in 1962, his watch became the first watch to be worn in space.
And just like Glenn’s watch, Musk’s TAG Heuer has been to space and back.
How Does Musk Keep Track of Time
He may be a busy, billionaire, business mogul, but Musk is just like you and me when it comes to needing to know the time; he uses his phone, and other technology.
He works in five-minute increments, or blocks, and is working every waking minute that he has. So he’s a busy man and needs to know when the block he’s on finishes. Sometimes it’s just more convenient, and at times comfortable, to just use your phone.
With a new baby here he’ll probably want to keep the watch off even more, so as not to scratch, or hurt his youngest song. He needs to be careful though, it’s easy to lose all track of time when you’re staring into the face of a newborn, whether they’re asleep or not.
History of Watches
The first timepieces to be worn were a mix between a clock and a watch as we know it now. Though humans have been telling time since primitive days, by focusing on the position of the sun, it wasn’t until the 15th century that a portable timepiece was available. The wristwatch followed approximately one hundred years later.
Not much changed for hundreds of years when it came to wristwatches. Sure, there were different designs, but even then, they were relatively similar, for the most part.
Then, in the 1950s things started to change in watches, with the creation of the electric watch. In 1969 the quartz watch was created, powered by a battery. Then, in the mid-1970s came the digital face watch. And now we have the smartwatch, such as Apple Watch or Samsung’s Galaxy Watch.
It’s interesting to see that for hundreds of years there wasn’t much change, and then all of a sudden, within a few decades, massive changes have occurred, propelling us into the future. And it seems like the Future is where Elon Musk is living. I don’t know about you, but I’m just waiting for the day he designs his own watch and allows the general public to have access to it.
