Katy Perry Enjoys a Healthy Diet
Even though she follows a strict diet, Katy Perry still enjoys junk food sometimes, and other times she simply snacks on healthy foods. Katy has spoken about her favorites many times, but her go-to favorite foods are crispy beef, Chinese chicken salad, and yellowtail sashimi. Her comfort food is chicken nuggets that are boot-shaped, as well as Cold Stone Creamery’s Birthday Cake Remix ice cream. When she wants junk food, she likes to have an In-N-Out-burger or some Mexican food.
During her tours, she likes to drink coconut water and freshly pressed juices. Some of her other healthy snacks include a healthy quesadilla with turkey, black beans, and low-fat cheese. She loves peanut butter, but when she craves a PB&J sandwich, she instead drinks a PB&J smoothie using a recipe her trainer gave her.
Katy always requests healthy snacks for her dressing rooms too. In the past, these have included fresh vegetables such as spinach and celery; tropical fruit – her favorite is tangerines – and couscous. She also likes dried figs, whole grain tortilla chips, healthy granola, homemade guacamole, and hummus. She loves Ritz crackers, and she once released a recipe for the World’s Best Cherry Pie with her co-judge on American Idol, Luke Bryan.
What Is The Five Factor Diet?
The specific diet that Katy Perry follows is called the Five-Factor Diet. This diet encourages you to eat five small meals a day. The formal diet outline for this plan says you need to “eat five meals a day made up of just five ingredients from five food groups,” and also do five five-minute exercises daily.
The meals themselves need to comprise of the following five nutritional components: a lean protein, fiber, a good fat, a complex carbohydrate, and a sugar-free drink.
For Katy Perry, these meals usually include things like broths or soups, whole grains such as quinoa, and grilled asparagus and chicken. The Five-Factor Diet is famous for helping people not only lose weight but to keep it off as well.
Katy Perry Has a Strict Self Care Routine
Katy’s balanced diet is just a part of her extensive self-care routine, which helps keep her energetic and healthy, especially when performing. She also works out and meditates.
Katy isn’t really a fan of the gym and prefers to exercise outdoors. She likes to wake up early to go on hikes or ride her bike. She still works out at the gym though; she does workouts designed by her trainer. These include jumping rope, which she loves, and short but high-intensity workouts such as hip thrusts and lunges.
Katy also meditates at least twice a day, and sometimes even more than that. She practices Transcendental Meditation – an easy to learn and practice technique based on the tangible benefits – which she learned along with her ex-husband Russel Brand. She is a huge advocate for the practice and speaks about it often.
Katy grew up in a religious household, but she is merely spiritual herself. She still prays though; and has said, “I pray all the time – for self-control, for humility.”
