Joel Embiid is a basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers team, nicknamed “the Process,” after an inside joke with 76ers fans to “trust the process.”
Joel Embiid does not have any tattoos. In fact, the starting lineup for the Philadelphia 76ers features no basketball players with any tattoos, but they still have tons of athletic talent.
Although he doesn’t have any tattoos, Joel Embiid still stands out on the basketball court for his athletic abilities and skills. He doesn’t need a tattoo; he just needs everyone to trust the process.
Tattoos and the 76ers Lineup
Joel Embiid is in good company when it comes to tattoos; other NBA players without tattoos include James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Chris Paul. He’s also in good company when it comes to the Philadelphia 76ers lineup, which includes several talented basketball players.
The Philadelphia 76ers 2019-2020 starting lineup made NBA history as one of the few team lineups where all the players do not have tattoos. Fadeaway World reports that the 76ers lineup is the only starting lineup in modern NBA history to only include players who do not have tattoos, including Joel Embiid.
The rest of the Philadelphia 76ers starting lineup for 2019-2020 included Al Horford, Tobias Harris, Josh Richardson, and Ben Simmons, all of whom do not have tattoos.
The 2019-2020 NBA season proved to be a unique season in many ways, including the introduction of bubbles into the league after a four-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the season would not compare to Joal Embiid’s record-breaking athletic feats the following season in 2021, where he scored a career record high of fifty points and twenty-one rebounds in a game against the Indiana Pacers.
Although Joel Embiid has no tattoos so far, he has certainly made a permanent mark on the NBA and the Philadelphia 76ers team.
MVP Candidacy, Statistics, and Rankings
As the 2020-2021 season draws to a close, Joel Embiid’s mark on the Philadelphia 76ers remains to be determined. Still, Joel Embiid is a valuable player. If you’re interested, you can watch some of Joel Embiid’s best plays from the 2020-2021 NBA season below in a YouTube video from the NBA;
Forbes reports that Joel Embiid returned to the Philadelphia 76ers after an injury that took him out of the game for ten games. However, since then, he has done much more than just pick up the slack that his absence left, as he went on to average approximately 30.1 points and 9.6 rebounds in the next seven games following his return.
In fact, with Joel Embiid on the court, the Philadelphia 76ers are outscoring on possessions by an average of 12.3 points per 100 possessions, the highest mark of any player — and that’s not the only ranking that Joel Embiid has improved.
USA Today’s Sixers Wire reports that Joel Embiid is actually ranked as the third-best player in the league — the third-best in the entire NBA! The Philadelphia 76ers superstar is making massive waves with his 29.1 points and 10.8 rebound average; he was a massive factor in why the team charted so well in the season.
In another article, USA Today’s Sixers Wire reports that Joel Embiid actually made 76ers history when he brought the team to a record-breaking victory against the Houston Rockets, winning 135-115. That gave the Philadelphia 76ers a winning streak of six games, a feat which had never been seen before in the team’s history.
When questioned about the winning streak, Joel Embiid had a clear position, saying credit went to “structure, the way we play. Last year, when you look at it, it was hard, and I missed a lot of road games. This year, we’ve been doing a better job when I’m not playing and when I’m hurt.”
Joel Embiid has certainly bounced back from his injury and onto the court in a significant way — time will tell if his winning streak holds up or if he decides ever to get a tattoo.
