Katy Perry does not use contacts to change the color of her eyes. She has naturally grey eyes, although some say that her eyes are a light blue. Since she wears glasses for her eyesight, it is possible that she switches to clear contacts when onstage. She wore dramatic contacts when filming the music video for E.T., where she dresses up as an alien.

Katy Perry Wears Glasses at Times
Katy Perry has been seen wearing glasses in public many times, so it is safe to assume that she switches to clear contact lenses when she is performing, as well as for the red carpet.
Katy Perry is a California girl, just like her famous song! She was born in Santa Barbara, California, and to parents who were born-again Christian pastors. Her upbringing was primarily religious, and for a long time, she only wrote and performed gospel music.
Even though she isn’t religious now, she retains her spirituality. She has said, “I pray all the time – for self-control, for humility.” Another part of her spirituality is her Transcendental Meditation practice, which she initially learned with her ex-husband Russel Brand. Katy was exposed to secular music after she began sneaking CDs from her friends. One of her biggest musical influences is Queen. She has said, “The way Freddie Mercury delivered his lyrics just made me feel like a confident woman; I’d say his fingerprint is all over me in general.” Katy’s first studio, which rocketed her to stardom, was One of The Boys. Some of her more recent hits include Small Talk and Daisies, both from her latest album also called Daisies.
Does She Wear Colored Contacts?
Katy’s eyes are completely natural, she does not wear colored contacts to make her eyes look blue. Some people say her eyes are actually grey, while other fans say they are simply a light shade of blue. Grey eyes are actually quite rare, just like green eyes!
Katy wore colored contacts while filming the music video for her song E.T., which features Kanye West and was a part of her third studio album, Teenage Dream. Katy dresses up as an alien for the video, and she wears many different looks. She wears contacts for two of these. For the first one, she wears contacts that made her eyes look like they were glowing from within, and for the second she wears larger and rounder contacts – these are a bit reptilian and quite scary! She switches to the third pair of contacts for this same look. These are blackout lenses, but larger than the average ones on the market.
Blue also happens to be Katy’s favorite color, and she has dyed her hair blue often! Katy has had many different hair colors and hairstyles over the years, but when asked her favorite, she said, “I actually really liked my green [hair] phase for a long time.” Katy also enjoys iridescent colors, another fact that becomes evident after watching her E.T. music video.
