Celebrity gossip is a common conversation piece, with hush-hush relationships and full-blown scandals ever prominent. However, some relationships, such as Halsey and Yungblud’s, just stir curiosity on how the two even met in the first place.
Halsey and Yungblud’s “How We Met” story is quite simple, consisting of a simple DM, or direct message, from Halsey to Yungblud. They met on a whim, as complete strangers, and really hit it off. It was “organic” and allowed for two artists to connect in a positive way.

The Lovebirds’ Meeting
Halsey and Yungblud began dating in late 2018, presumably in November. Halsey, Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, was a 24 year old singer, songwriter, and activist and Yungblud, Dominic Richard Harrison, was a 21 year old singer, songwriter, and actor.
In an interview to radio station 97.1 AMP, Yungblud reveals that Halsey was the one to reach out to him. She sent him her number with a black heart emoji right through an Instagram direct message.
He was taken aback and admitted he thought it was a cool way to be approached. The two then met up at a bar just to discuss music together, and both said how organic and real it felt and reminded Halsey of when she used to meet up with people in New York without pressure of needing security or to be backstage.

The Relationship
Halsey and Yungblud had a very solid relationship and seemed to really connect. They both sort of came from the same backgrounds, with hers just being United States based and his being United Kingdom based.
This allowed both of them to learn off of each other and really converse in a deep manner. They revealed a lot about this, and their shared music writing experience in an interview with triple j’s Ben and Liam.
Halsey wrote a song titled “Finally // beautiful stranger” which was her first ever love song. It was based on their relationship, her feelings of safety and love, and it told such an important story to her.

The Falling Out
While the two wound up breaking up in September of 2019 and Halsey moved on to Evan Peters, they are still good friends.
Halsey has admitted that she stopped dating musicians altogether now. She thinks it is better for her own good and this matches up with what Yungblud said in February of 2020.
Yungblud opened up that they spent as much time as they could together, but had varying goals and visions which made it hard to spend as much time together as they wanted or should have to be in a relationship.
He also revealed his distaste for Los Angeles, as he felt it was not “real” there. Halsey would often travel a lot and be busy as her career really started to blossom even more.
Yungblud was also inspired by their relationship to create music. His second album is about having his heart ripped out, feeling heartbroken, and about finding himself.
It will allow him to show a real and raw side of himself and share a bit of his side of the public breakup.
Dating Rumors
In early 2020, there were some rumors floating around that the two could be potentially rekindling their relationship. This is mainly due to some hints fans have seen in comments on social media.
With their strong past and their apparent friendship after their break up, this is always a possibility. However, with Halsey’s statement on halting her future relationships with musicians, it makes it seem slightly impossible they will become more than friends any time soon.
