Hila Klein Cheating Scandal
In October 2020, Keemstar’s fellow YouTuber, Leafy, posted to Twitter that Keem said he had slept with Hila Klein. Hila Klein is the wife of Ethan Klein also known as h3h3.
The two men had been involved in a long feud for some time now. Meanwhile, Keemstar and Leafy are close friends. This led a lot of fans to speculate that the accusations made by Leafy were a ploy to fuel yet more drama with Klein as a publicity stunt.
While Leafy tweeted out that Keemstar has slept with Hila, Keemstar tweeted that he never did and that these allegations were false. Whether the allegations were true or not, they did work to fuel more drama and get Keemstar more publicity.
However, the rumors and publicity stunt may have also been in retaliation to a three-part YouTube series that Ethan Klein released via his H3H3 Productions. The videos ended up costing Keemstar his partnership with G-Fuel energy drinks.
So what was in the YouTube series?
H3H3’s Damaging Video
The first video in the three-part series was called ‘Content Nuke – Keemstar’ and it was released on May 19, 2020. It was the first to highlight the controversy surrounding Daniel ‘Keemstar’ Keem’s different journalistic practices and his partnerships with certain companies.
One company relationship that came under fire in the videos was Keemstar’s sponsorship through G-Fuel. The H3H3 video asked why G-Fuel would continue to sponsor Keemstar when he has made unfounded allegations against other YouTubers.
H3H3 also brought into question unethical practices that Keemstar has used as a self-proclaimed journalist for his YouTube channel DramaAlert.
As a result of this first video, Keemstar claims he walked away from G-Fuel. Although many believe the company decided to take away his sponsorship. With that, he also lost revenue from a beverage he had created with the company as well as affiliate sales.

That was not even the worst of it too. The video went on to accuse Keemstar of being responsible for fellow YouTuber Etika’s suicide in 2019.
Etika, whose real name was Desmond Amofah, was a prominent YouTuber from Brooklyn, New York. Amofah was known for his over-the-top reactions to Nintendo videos and was also a model and game streamer. He had a history of mental illness.
Amofah had been institutionalized multiple times before uploading a video titled “I’m Sorry” to his YouTube channel. The upload took place right before he took his own life by jumping off of the Manhattan Bridge into the East River. This happened on June 20, 2019.
H3H3 accused Keemstar of egging on Etika’s suicide in an interview that was posted to Keem’s YouTube Channel DramaAlert. The interview took place roughly a month before Etika’s death.
In the interview, Etika spoke about feeling like he was in a simulation of life. Keemstar hypothetically asked if he would consider jumping off of a building.
And, this was all brought up in just the first video posted by H3H3. The following two were titled ‘Nuclear Fallout – Keemstar’ and ‘Nuclear Winter – Keemstar.’
As mentioned above, it is possible that Keemstar retaliated to Ethan Klein’s videos by having his friend Leafy tweet that he slept with Klein’s wife. After all, Keemstar is single and seems to be pretty good at keeping most of his personal life, including daughter Mia, out of the limelight.
To retaliate against Ethan Klein further, Keemstar announced that he would be suing Ethan Klein for damages. Although Klein has responded that he is not concerned that the lawsuit will go through to the courts.
The announcement that he would be suing Klein was made before the tweets alleging he slept with Hila Klein were released.
