Left handed people only make up around 10% of the world’s population. The quirky and fun actress has always had a charming uniqueness to her. But, is she also left handed?
Kristen Bell isn’t left-handed, she’s right-handed. Clips and photos of her prove that she uses her right hand when signing autographs for her fans. She remains to be right-handed as well when she joined Ellen Degeneres in a game of ‘Hot Hands’ in the Ellen Degeneres show.
It wouldn’t have surprised me if Kristen Bell was actually left handed because she has always seemed to have her own natural groove that sets her apart from her fellow actors. Well, it turns out being a lefty isn’t one of her rare traits. So, what else makes us so intrigued by Kristen Bell?
From High School Detective to Disney Royalty
In a 2016 interview with CBS’s Tracy Smith, Kristen talked about her roles and how she has been able to put her own stamp in Hollywood. Bell had this to say about her start in acting, “I wasn’t homely or awkward enough to play the awkward girl but I wasn’t pretty enough to play the love interest, I was somewhere down the middle”.
And so, Kristen Bell took on the lead role in the hit TV series Veronica Mars. People took notice of just how relatable her character was. Not just because of the storyline, Kristen had this fresh, young vibe to her that isn’t intimidating yet interesting. Take note, Kristen was already 24 years old when she was playing the role of a high school girl who works part-time as a detective to help her private investigator dad. Still, Kristen played the role perfectly.
Fast forward to 2013, Kristen played the role of a Disney princess, Anna. She is now Disney royalty. Who doesn’t know about Anna and Elsa? Every little girl loves Frozen. Secretly, a lot of adults do, too! Kristen, yet again, perfectly fit the role of Anna who always had this look of excitement sparkling in her eyes.
If you are curious, Anna is also visibly right handed as she uses her right hand to knock endlessly on Elsa’s door. This is seen in one of the most iconic scenes in the film when Anna was singing “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman”.
Placing Value in Being Different
In Frozen, Anna and Elsa showed that you can empower yourself even when you’re different. You don’t have to be like everybody else to feel good about yourself and make an impact. That is what Kristen Bell wanted to be a role model for.
This is a quote from her in her CBS interview, “If you don’t fit in, make your own category”. Kristen has proven throughout her career that she has a place in this industry even if she doesn’t look or act like everybody else. By choosing roles that would complement her values and beliefs, she was able to take control of her career and take advantage of unique qualities.
Kristen is now happily married to actor, Dax Shepard. They have two kids together namely, Lincoln and Delta. Recently, people have mom-shamed the actress when she revealed in an episode of ‘#Momsplaining’ that her daughter, Delta, still wears diapers occasionally.
After getting some backlash on this, she explained through Twitter that Delta only wears diapers in bed and that it’s nothing to be ashamed of. All kids are different and it isn’t so weird for a 5-year-old with a tiny bladder to wear diapers at night. In fact, she doesn’t think her daughter would be embarrassed about this because she’s confident and goofy and wouldn’t see anything about her unique, beautiful self to apologize for.
It seems like Kristen would be passing along her wonderful views on being comfortable about yourself and your unique abilities to her two young kids. Way to go, Kristen!
