Once pictured in a white shirt that said “Tofu guys don’t eat meat”, it makes you wonder if Harry Styles is vegan. Could Harry Styles be going in One Direction with his diet?
Although Styles seems to be consistently involved with veganism, he himself is NOT vegan. From having a vegan stalker (yikes!) to ending his European tour with a vegan pie in the face of an on-stage friend, he supports veganism – but isn’t quite one himself.
Styles actually had a stalker camped outside his home and when offered money from Styles for food and a hotel, he said no because of his religion . . . and that he’s vegan. Read more about that below.
The Celery Stalk-er
This vegan stalker had camped outside Harry’s London house for months. After telling Styles he was vegan, Harry returned with vegan food the next day and passed it off to him from his car. The stalker actually requested edamame beans. Harry remembers the whole situation just being “off”. He even mentions being sad for the guy when seen sleeping at a bus stop – until he had to up his security team because he was scared.
Pablo Tarazaga-Orero (the culprit) was found guilty after being tried in court for stalking Harry. He would approach Styles in public asking for money and started leaving notes in his mailbox. This made Harry completely uncomfortable and remembers seeing him almost everyday.
Tarazaga-Orero had a completely different idea about Harry. He stated that when Harry offered him money it was “for some fun” in a hotel. A judge, Nigel Deane, found him guilty and arrested him on his trip back from Spain in the Stansted airport.
The Vegan Pie
Harry’s supporting act (Mabel McVey) was pied in the face to show an end to their European tour. McVey was also covered in silly string by the supportive singer. Harry knew that Mabel was vegan and went as far as getting a vegan pie made so he could smash it in her face at the end of their concert in Dublin.
Fans loved that Harry was so respectful with her diet choices and Reddit took off with questions and arguments wondering if Styles was a vegan. Some comments say they’ve heard him talk about fish and cheese. Others go on to predict that he is pescatarian (only eats seafood). Live Kindly claimed that Harry had not mentioned intentions to turn vegan in April 2018.
Harry’s Diet
Style’s makes it clear he is not vegan with his tear-jerking prank on the Ellen Degeneres show revealing his love for cheese. (Btw . . . Ellen was a vegan for 8 years!) Some of his favorite foods also include tacos and sweet corn. He doesn’t like beetroot or olives.
In January 2018 Harry was found enjoying some sushi with his then-girlfriend Camille Rowe. (Wait . . . sushi? What if he is pescatarian?) Styles also watches his figure through his bullet coffee diet. He takes his coffee black with a spoonful of both butter and coconut oil. He says it keeps him from getting hungry.
You see, the coffee speeds up metabolism (so you burn more calories) and the butter and oil slows down the digestion process. So it takes you longer to break down the bullet drink – reducing your hunger throughout the morning. Harry mentions going on this bullet-coffee-only diet for two days.
Something must be working for him because his ex-band mates called him “superfit” and mentioned he boxes and runs every day. Harry attributes his size (he wears women’s jeans) to yoga, meditation, and pilates. (Psst . . . check out Harry’s diet and workout routine).
So, while he’s not technically vegan – he sure prides himself in being respectful of the diet and lifestyle. Wearing tofu-positive shirts and being open about his support has grown his fan base (as if it couldn’t get any bigger).
