RHOBH’s Kyle Richards has veneers. She got her new smile from well-known celebrity dentist Michael Apa, which she proudly showcased to the world immediately after the procedure was complete.
Richards was understandably proud of her smile following the make-over. Almost immediately the RHOBH star took to her social media to flaunt the work that had been done by Apa.
Smile Shining Brightly
In an Instagram post by Richards, we can see the high quality of the work that was done. In a post prior to the reveal, Richards discussed how she was often seen smiling with her mouth closed, something that is evident if you do a Google image search of the reality star.
It turns out that Richards’ smile had been something bothering her for quite some time, implying that she had long considered the benefits of cosmetic dental surgery but was unsure about undergoing the procedure.
In the same Instagram post, she talks at length about the fact that Michael Apa was a large part of her finally deciding to go through with it, feeling that she would be in safe hands with him. Those hands turned out to not only be safe but incredibly competent, as Richards would later take to Instagram to dazzle her followers.
Celebrity Dentist
If you look a little more into who Richards chose as her dentist, it starts to make more sense why she felt like she would be so well taken care of. By virtue of how well known and sought-after he is, it would appear that Apa isn’t just a cosmetic dentist, he’s the cosmetic dentist.
As well as attending to a multitude of celebrities and social media influencers, Apa has the rare privilege of having Invitation Only status when flying to Dubai, a status reserved for a small handful of people across the world.
Apa is incredibly passionate about his work, employing his own special brand of technique and custom made ceramic veneers to create work that is as close to a perfect version of natural as possible.
This process of creating sets of custom-tailored, bespoke veneers, is probably one of the most important factors in influencing people such as Richards, who expressed worry about getting a procedure like this done. Especially so if you compare the procedure to the more classic methods of applying veneers, which often involves excessive sanding down of the tooth.
Inspiring Her Colleagues
Richards wouldn’t be the only one to seek out a cosmetic dental treatment, inspiring fellow RHOBH member and sister Kim Richards to also seek out the magic touch of Apa. All three were incredibly happy with the work that had been done, noting how much of a difference the new smile had made to Kim’s confidence.
Although it might not have been a direct inspiration, another cast member of RHOBH also chose to breathe new life into her smile by getting veneers. This time, it was Dorit Kemsley who went through a transformation.
Kemsley wouldn’t go with the same dentist as Richards, opting instead for the services and skills of Sam Saleh, another dentist famous for the art they perform with their cosmetic dentistry. In her Instagram post, we can see Kemsley utterly beaming with her new smile, pictured alongside Saleh who seems equally as pleased with his completed work.
How Much did Kyle Richards’ Veneers Cost?
It’s difficult to know for sure how much Richards might have spent on her veneers, though it’s safe to say it’s probably in the higher range, due to the fact that Apa, famous in his own right, has also handled other high-profile celebrities before in his work.
Taking a look at what it might cost the average person to afford something like this, and what kind of increased price going to a celebrity dentist would bring, it’s easy to imagine the price being somewhere in the range of $3,000 – $7,000 a tooth.
It’s a heavy price to pay, especially for the average person. As social media becomes an ever-present constant in our lives, however, keeping up with the beauty standards of the rich and famous is all the more important for influencers and celebrities.
