Are Logan Paul and Jake Paul Related?

by Sandra Robinson
2020/10/06

Since both YouTubers produce similar content, have similar appearances, and obviously share a surname, it’s only normal to wonder whether the two are related.

Logan Paul was born in 1995, two years before his younger brother Jake Paul was born. They are both the biological sons of mother Pamela Ann Stepnick and father Gregory Allan Paul.

Keep reading to find out more about the brothers, including their childhood, careers, and controversies.

Growing Up Together

Logan and Jake Paul were born in Cleveland Ohio, and grew up in Westlake, Ohio.

Their mother Pamela was a nurse while they were growing up. Their father Greg was in the army, before becoming a real estate agent and then opening up his own roofing business.

Where Does Jake Paul Live?

What Is Logan Paul’s Zodiac Sign?

In a video titled “Draw My Life” on Jake’s YouTube channel, he opened up about growing up and life with Logan and his parents. Speaking of his brother, he said, “I spent my whole life with him, basically side by side.”

He also spoke about the kind of morals that his parents instilled in them, stating: “From the time I can remember, my parents instilled in Logan and I a great work ethic and a competitive spirit.”

Living in a house with large front and back gardens, the whole family would often go on adventures in the woods, playing sports, and driving four-wheelers.

Both brothers got into American football, with Logan becoming a linebacker on Westlake High School’s football team.

While both of them were into wrestling, Logan became quite serious about the sport and qualified at state-level for the Ohio High School Athletic Association in 2013 at the Wrestling Individual Championships.

Interest in Entertainment

When it comes to YouTube and the entertainment industry in general, Logan and Jake started filming skits and other videos for fun. When Logan was 10 and Jake was 8 years old, they set up a YouTube channel named “Zoosh” and tried posting comedy content.

YouTube was starting to gain traction around this time, but their channel didn’t get much attention. They mainly made videos to make themselves and their friends laugh.

As they both transitioned to high school, they stopped making videos for their Zoosh channel, and instead began a landscaping business to earn money, working for $10 and hour.

They briefly started up the channel again, but by the time Jake turned 16 he had noticed that Vine was released – a 6-second video sharing platform that eventually was shut down in late 2016. Some of their skits started going viral, which led to sponsorships and brand deals.

After realizing they could make money from their content, the brothers decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.

Jake got his breakthrough on a Disney Channel series called Bizaardvark and starred in a main role until mid 2017.

Controversial Brothers

Jake’s first major controversy came when he was kicked off Bizaardvark after some questionable behavior at his Los Angeles home. He would disrupt neighbors with his antics, and his content on YouTube was becoming edgier.

Love you all! Thanks for the support❤️

After KTLA news arrived at his house to report on his shenanigans, Disney were not happy with the results.

“They [Disney] basically called me and were like, ‘Yo, what’s going on, what’s going on?’” He once said in an interview, adding, “they were like, ‘OK. We want to expedite this process of weaning you off the show.’”

It doesn’t end there though. Throughout their careers, they have been involved in multiple controversial issues.

From Jake being accused of scamming his young fans, to racial slurs and looting during Black Lives Matter protests, to Logan perpetuating racial stereotypes and filming a body in Japan’s “suicide forest”, these brothers aren’t strangers to showing up in the news on the regular.
