Lifts are great for discretely increasing one’s height. They are height increasing insoles commonly used by shorter men. They can add as much as 3.5 inches to the wearer’s height. Certain celebrities use them, especially when walking red carpets. Is the American movie star, Brad Pitt, one of such celebrities? Does Brad Pitt wear lifts?
Brad Pitt has been seen wearing lifts and elevator shoes on the red carpets. Although the actor has not openly admitted to doing so, merely comparing his height from one red carpet appearance to another makes it obvious. Curious as to why the actor wears lifts? This article will fill you in on the possible reasons.
Why Brad Pitt Uses Lifts
Before we consider why Brad Pitt uses lifts, let’s have a reference point of him actually using them. At the Mexico premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Brad Pitt can be spotted in a fedora, fug brown suit, and an obvious lift shoe.
The average height for white American men is fixed at approximately 5 feet 10 inches. With a height pegged at 5 feet 11 inches tall, Brad Pitt is actually taller than the average white American man. Even fellow star and Hollywood celebrity George Clooney has described his height as irritating. If you don’t think so, maybe this fan’s analysis of Brad Pitt’s height might convince you.
Back to the topic, Brad Pitt’s known height makes it quite an unusual thing for him to use lifts as he counts as being fairly tall already. So why does he use them?
On the set of the movie The Big Short, an unnamed source reported that Brad Pitt wore lifts to be taller than (or at par with) co-stars Ryan Gosling and Christian Bale. The source is further quoted as saying, “Brad hates feeling like he just missed the mark, so he compensates by giving himself a boost.” The source also stated, “He believes that being tall makes for a striking visual.”
If this were the case, then Brad’s use of lifts is understandable as it is not unusual for some men to gain additional confidence from merely being taller than their mates. Similarly, they might feel like they actually measure up when they are of the same height as their peers. Still, this rationale seems unusual for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button actor who has already attained a state of global stardom and has garnered achievements enough to give ten men confidence. The statements by the unnamed source quoted above have, however, been debunked as being untrue.
Other than the above, Brad Pitt’s use of lifts may just be in line with psychological studies relating to why men and women care about height. The studies revealed some conclusions including that women prefer to date taller men, short women and men are viewed as less attractive and less unsuccessful, tall people make more money, tall people are more educated and that short men report being less healthy. Maybe Brad Pitt has some of this in mind when using lifts. Irrespective of the psychological findings on height, Brad Pitt is successful, makes a lot of money, and has been taller than the women he’s been publicly involved with.
However, it’s still understandable why he may want to wear lifts. We can list a few reasons which include portraying movie roles confidently, an extra boost of confidence, and just because he wants to. It is ultimately his choice, and we can only support that. We cannot question his reasons for doing so as long as he keeps acting those movies we love.
Whatever Brad Pitt’s reason might be for wearing lifts, whether as a confidence booster or to compensate for perceived deficiencies or for underlying psychological reasons, we don’t care, and we will continue to respect his craft as an actor, producer and all-round great guy. He is still sexy with his height.
