Jennifer Garner does not have any real tattoos that have been made public. She was photographed with a large heart tattoo on her left forearm in 2018 but this was only temporary and was already fading at the time the photo was taken.

Growing Up
Jennifer Anne Garner was born in Houston, Texas on April 17, 1972. Her parents were William John Garner, a chemical engineer, and Patricia Ann English, who later became a college English teacher. Jennifer also has two sisters.
From the age of three, she was raised in Charleston, West Virginia. As the middle child, Garner was keen to distinguish herself from her sisters.
She grew up in a conservative household, despite her mother being quietly democratic, and attended her local United Methodist Church weekly. She has jokingly described her upbringing as “practically Amish”.
Garner was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and has been prescribed Ritalin ever since. After graduating from George Washington High School in Charleston, she enrolled at Denison University in Ohio.
Garner initially studied chemistry but switched her major after discovering a passion for theater. She spent a semester at the National Theater Institute in Connecticut and worked in theatre during summer breaks. She graduated in 1994.
Career
Keen to pursue an acting career, Garner relocated to New York City in 1995 and worked as an understudy at the Roundabout Theatre Company. This early theater work earned her $150 per week.
Garner found early screen work in independent films and guest appearances in shows such as “Law & Order”, while also working as a hostess at Isabella’s restaurant.
To improve her chances of screen success, Garner relocated again in 1997, this time to Los Angeles. She had her first leading TV roles and minor roles in feature films but her screen career was largely stop-start, with shows such as “Significant Others” and “Time of Your Life” being canceled shortly into their first seasons.
Garner’s big break and most memorable role came in 2001 when she was cast in J.J. Abrams’ “Alias” spy series. Garner had previously worked with Abrams in his 1998 show “Felicity” and he wrote the protagonist of “Alias”, Sydney Bristow, specifically for Garner.
The show was a hit, airing for five seasons and winning Garner a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. She was also nominated for four Emmy Awards for Best Actress.
Garner’s time on “Alias” was lucrative, earning her $150,000 per episode by the final season of the show. Her increased profile and experience with action roles led to her being cast as Elektra in “Daredevil” in 2003 and a spinoff “Elektra” in 2005.
She has continued to work steadily in movies and occasionally on TV in the years since.
Tattoos
Jennifer Garner was photographed with a tattoo in February 2018 while attending church in Los Angeles with her children. Her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, has a number of tattoos, so it probably wasn’t a surprise to see Garner sporting a heart-shaped tattoo on her left forearm.
Garner has been a major proponent of the paparazzi not photographing celebrities while they are with their children but onlooking photographers seemed to ignore her call for privacy.
Though it might have appeared that Garner had added a significant piece of body art, on closer inspection, it was obvious that the new heart tattoo was only temporary. In fact, it had already begun fading when it was spotted on Garner’s arm.
Garner’s daughter was 12 at the time and it seems likely that it was just a transfer that had been applied to the actress by her children. Garner, as far as we know, has no real tattoos.
