Being that Kim Kardashian has non-American and non-English-speaking ancestry and also spends a lot of time in other countries such as Mexico, France, Italy and Japan, begs the question whether the Kardashian has picked up any other languages along the way.
Kim Kardashian cannot speak Spanish fluently, despite being very well travelled. That being said, she does know a little Spanish, as does her sister Kylie.
Read more below about Kim and the rest of the Kardashian’s speaking Spanish.
Kim Speaking Spanish
Kris Jenner, Kim’s mom, is said to be of Dutch, English, Irish, German and Scottish descent. As well as this, Kim’s father, Robert Kardashian was third-generation Armenian-American.
His great-grandparents emigrated from Armenia (now Turkey) to America in the early 1900s and the family have remained there ever since. Despite Kim’s varied heritage, the Kardashian cannot speak any other languages fluently. However, she can be seen in a video posted in 2012 at Cosmopolitan magazine’s 40th-anniversary party in Mexico City speaking “un poco de español,” as she puts it, meaning “a little Spanish”.
The Kardashian goes on to say, “I don’t know a whole lot” but admits to wanting to spend more time in Mexico, hopefully picking up some more. Watch the full clip by clicking the link below.
What’s more, Kylie Jenner also posted a video of her and Tyga speaking Spanish to one another in a hotel room back in 2017. Check out the link below to see Kylie speaking Spanish.
Kendall Jenner’s Second Language
Other than this, no other Kardashian or Jenner is known to speak any languages, other than English. The only exception is Kendall Jenner who is said to speak “bird” language, if you can count that as a language.
Kendall can be seen on multiple occasions showing off her talent. On Instagram Cara Delavigne posted a video of the two of them enacting a forest soundscape, Cara making owl sounds by blowing through her tongue and Kendall tweeting like a bird. She can also be seen speaking “bird” on Vogue’s “73 Questions With Kendall Jenner”.
When asked by the interviewer “do you have a hidden talent?” on the porch of her childhood home in Calabasas, Los Angeles she replied “yes” and continued to purse her lips and make an impressively bird-like noise with her mouth.
The celeb can also be seen performing her unusual skill on James Corden’s show, Hidden Talents in 2017 and in an interview with W magazine in 2016.
The Kardashian Babies Having Spanish Lessons
There are ten little ones in the Kardashian family, and soon to be more with Kylie wanting another, although when this will be is uncertain. During a video posted on Kylie’s YouTube channel, big sister Kim asks her, “do you see yourself having four kids?”
To which she replies, “I see myself for sure having four kids I just don’t know when”.
Her first child, Stormi Webster was born in 2018 to her and rapper Travis Scott. However, the eldest of the Kardashian children is Mason Dash Disick, born in 2009 to Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick.
In 2012 the couple then had their second child, Penelope Scotland Disick and finally had a third in 2014, Reign Aston Disick. Brother to the Kardshian sisters, Rob Kardashian has one child, Dream Renée Kardashian, who was born in 2016.
Khloé Kardashian also has one, True Thompson, who was born in 2018, but Khloé says she plans on having more. Finally, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West famously have four adorable children, North West, born 2013, Saint West, born 2015, Chicago West, born 2018, and Psalm West, born 2019.
In 2019, Khloé Kardashian reportedly took True, along with three of the other Kardashian-Jenner kids, Chicago, Stormi and Dream, to a development class where the children were learning how to speak and sing in Spanish. So, even though Kim won’t be speaking Spanish anytime soon, perhaps thanks to Auntie Khloé her children might be.
