Famed across the globe for his unique comedic flair and fun-loving personality, Paul Rudd is one of Hollywood’s funniest stars. Ever since making his big-screen acting debut as a teenage heartthrob in ‘Clueless’ back in 1995, Rudd has gone on to land some pretty impressive roles over the course of his career – yet, it appears many of his fans are more curious about whether the star is right or left-handed…
While is there little tangible evidence to prove whether Paul Rudd is right or left-handed, it’s clear enough that the ‘Ant-Man’ star is right-handed. Of course, this is entirely based on his body language during his appearance in ‘Hot Ones’, where the actor mainly uses his right hand to eat wings.
On a serious note, it’s not really a surprise to know that so many people out there have burning questions about the star’s physique and form, because, for quite a while now, big-time Rudd fans have been asking similar questions about his age and appearance. In particular, the New Jersey-born actor – who was born in 1969 – is often asked how he never appears to age!
An Underwhelming Cure for Ageing
First of all, it’s important to be aware that questions surrounding Rudd’s seemingly eternal youthfulness have been floating around for years now. In fact, this bizarre myth has reached fever pitch on a number of occasions with one media site even making a quiz out of the idea, which challenges readers to try and work out which photo of Rudd is the younger version.
And, it’s not as if questions surrounding Rudd’s appearance are completely baseless. ‘Ant-Man’ era Rudd really doesn’t look that different from ‘Clueless’ era Rudd, despite the 20-year gap.
In 2019, the Rudd anti-aging conundrum re-emerged after the actor celebrated his 50th birthday. With planet earth having observed a whole five decades of Rudd – and with the actor not looking a day over 35 – many of his fans began to think that their favorite Avenger had managed to find the fountain of youth.
A fan on Twitter captured the mood of the fanbase perfectly, tweeting: “I saw Paul Rudd trending and panicked for a minute. But the immortal vampire is just celebrating his 15th 35th birthday. Crisis averted.”
When actually asked about his secret during an expo in Chicago, Rudd disregarded the question and joked: “I’m 80 years old on the inside”. He then pointed to his heart and said, “In here, pure darkness – and a little moisturizer.”
So, rather underwhelmingly, Rudd fans got their answer – moisturizer.
However, it remains to be seen whether it is moisturizer alone will be able to preserve his youthful glow as he marches slowly on toward his 60th… Watch this space.
Paul Rudd in a Nutshell
With eternal youth seemingly attained, it’s worth taking the time to explore how Rudd chooses to spend his days. Now, everyone knows that the actor has starred in some of pop culture’s most iconic movies, but not everyone will be aware of the information disclosed below – get ready for a few fun facts about everyone’s favorite starring man.
Unknown to many, Rudd – who’s a New Yorker through and through – is very fond of the Irish and the culture of Ireland. He’s visited Ireland a number of times and is said to personally know the father of Seamus Coleman, a professional soccer player.
Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that Rudd has a fully-functioning Irish pub in the basement of his home in upstate New York. In an interview, Rudd joked about how the pub is completely free, saying: “That’s the great thing about having your own pub”.
Another great fact about the star is that, while, in ‘Friends’, Rudd’s character insisted on changing his name to “Crap Bag”, in real life, Rudd occasionally goes by the alias of Kenny Chin.
The story goes that, following the final cut of the movie ‘A Question of Ethics’, Rudd was so disillusioned with the finished article that he asked that his role be accredited to Kenny Chin as opposed to his own name. Allegedly, Rudd still uses the identity to check into hotels!
And, if all of that isn’t enough to make you a die-hard Rudd fan, the star – who’s big on baseball – also once enjoyed a Royals game so much that he joked about inviting all the players, staff, and fans to a party at his mum’s house.
So, love him or hate him (to be honest, not sure who would hate him) Paul Rudd is one of the most lovable stars in showbiz, even if he is an “immortal vampire”…
Here’s to you, Kenny Chin!
