This beautiful actress has been popular since her High School Musical days back in the early 2000s. Does Hudgens’s diet have anything to do with how she always looks amazing?
Vanessa Hudgens is not strictly vegan, though she does often choose to eat vegan alternatives. She has called herself a pescatarian, meaning she doesn’t eat meat but she does eat fish, though she also eats eggs. Hudgens also follows both the keto diet and intermittent fasting.

Hudgens’s Diet
As an actress, singer, and dancer, Hudgens has to stay fit to keep up with her workload. Her diet is a large part of how she maintains her lifestyle.
Her diet is relatively simple but well outlined. She mainly follows the Keto low-carb, high-fat diet, and incorporates intermittent fasting as well.
The Keto diet has been proven to help people lose weight as well as offers health benefits and protections against various diseases and conditions. While Hudgens avoids most meats, she instead eats many plant-based proteins and fats.
In an interview with Women’s Health in 2017, Hudgens talked about her love of avocados, and how she tends to eat one a day. “I need high fats. If I’m not getting enough, my body holds on to calories. We’ve been trained to think that fats are bad, but they’re so good–a source of energy and sustenance that keeps you going through the day.”
Avocados make up a large part of her diet, as well as other plant-based, high-fat foods like almond butter. “That’s the only way I can not eat carbs,” the actress explained.
One of her favorite Keto snacks is these SlimFast peanut butter cups, which she advertised on her Instagram in this post. As she said, the snack “is delicious and feels like a cheat… I always have one of [them] in my bag.”
She doesn’t follow a vegan diet, nor is she strictly pescatarian, though she does often choose to eat vegan options. The actress does mostly eat fish, but also eats eggs or sometimes chicken.
Hudgens will often skip breakfast when she’s fasting, choosing to have her eating window be later on in the day. If she’s not fasting, she’ll have a protein-rich meal with vegetables as well, like scrambled eggs, spinach, and tofu sausage.
For lunch, the actress will often choose to have a salad spruced up with some lean proteins like salmon or other fish, and another version of this will be her dinner.

Health and Wellness
Diet is a big part of being healthy, but it’s also not the only thing to focus on. Hudgens has also devoted a lot of her time to working out–six days a week, when she can–and focuses on cardio and bodyweight workouts as well as yoga, which the star said keeps her centered.
Yoga is her activity of choice for de-stressing and relaxing her mind. She even described it as her therapy, and she mixes it with other intensive cardio workouts.
Hudgens is a big fan of SoulCycle, and cycles very often to workout. In posts like this one on her Instagram, she poses on a cycling machine.
She also likes to do Pilates when she can, either in a studio or on her own where she can just go through the exercises she knows. When she has time, she’ll also go hiking with friends.
While Hudgens mainly focuses on Pilates, cycling, and yoga for her workouts, she also likes to mix it up sometimes with other activities. Sometimes, she’ll switch it up and box, while other times she’ll keep it classic with some standard weight training.
With this mixture of diet and exercise, Hudgens is set for any role she’s taking on.
