YouTuber and lifestyle influencer Emma Chamberlain is known for her popular YouTube videos documenting her life and rating different fast-food restaurants. She’s also known for her fashion and style, leading many fans to wonder what makeup she uses to get her signature look.
Emma Chamberlain uses a variety of makeup products in her routine, from drugstore brands like Maybelline to high-end brands such as Marc Jacobs. She typically sticks to a fresh, natural makeup look in her daily life.
Emma Chamberlain is definitely a busy person, with her own social media empire and coffee company, Chamberlain Coffee, to keep her days full. Luckily, because of her social media fame, she’s been incredibly open with fans about what her routine looks like.
Makeup Routine
In an interview with Allure Magazine, Emma Chamberlain walked her fans through her makeup routine and favorite brands to use.
First, she begins her makeup routine with a strong skincare base. Emma Chamberlain washes her face with the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser, then uses the Sonya Dakar facial oil to hydrate and prime her face for makeup application.
Emma Chamberlain also uses the cult skincare favorite, Aquaphor, to heal chapped lips. On especially dry days, she also uses Lanolin Cream on her lips, which is actually a nipple cream.
Both products are commonly available at most drugstores. Emma Chamberlain uses these intensely moisturizing products to combat the side effects of Accutane, a prescription acne medication that is known to cause dryness.
After giving her skincare routine time to sink in, Emma Chamberlain does her makeup for the day — she keeps her routine simple and likes to be done in fifteen minutes.
First, she applies Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation as a lightweight base for her makeup. Then she uses two different concealers to touch up her foundation base; a Chanel concealer for blemishes and the Kosas Revealer Concealer for her under-eyes.
On days when Emma Chamberlain is filming for YouTube, she makes sure to use a setting powder so that she doesn’t appear shiny on camera. Then, Emma Chamberlain uses a Marc Jacobs bronzer and a Milani highlighter to add definition and polish to her face.
Although Emma Chamberlain doesn’t fill in her eyebrows, she does lightly brush them with the Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara, which she uses as a brow gel for hold. Then, instead of using eyeliner, Emma Chamberlain goes for a subtle look, using an angled brush to brush on eyeshadow.
Emma Chamberlain finishes her look with mascara and a plumping lip gloss — she’s especially fond of the Too Faced Lip Injection Plumping Gloss for its extreme plumping effects. She also adds lip balm on top of the gloss.
Skincare Routine
Emma Chamberlain also has a detailed skincare routine in addition to her makeup routine to keep her skin ultra-soft.
She likes to use the Bad Habit Silent Mode Hydrating Hyaluronic Mask, which is super hydrating and helps Emma Chamberlain combat the drying side effects of her acne medication.
In a video with Vogue, Emma Chamberlain says that she uses the mask three to four times a week, but it depends on how her skin is feeling. She leaves the mask on for ten minutes.
After washing off her hydrating mask, Emma Chamberlain applies the iUNIK Black Snail Restore Serum Repair Ampoule, which is supposed to help prevent wrinkles. She combines the snail serum with the iUNIK Tea tree Relief Natural Facial Serum to help prevent acne.
Then Emma Chamberlain uses the ultra-affordable serum from cult skincare brand The Ordinary, their Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum, and the Bad Habit Dewd Hemp Nourishing Facial Oil. She says the hemp oil is one of her favorite products, as it makes her skin look like “a baby’s butt.”
Finally, Emma Chamberlain finishes up her skincare routine with the most important product around — sunscreen! Emma Chamberlain uses Elta MD UV Clear Facial Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 46.
It is so important to remember sunscreen, especially when using serums and skincare products with lots of active ingredients, as they can make you more sensitive to UV rays and sun damage.
However, Emma Chamberlain notes that the important thing about skincare is how individual an experience it is, and different products will work for different people. She says that she has tried hundreds of products, trying to find the perfect routine.
