Kim Kardashian is known for many things but over the past couple of years, she has truly cemented herself as a beauty icon. Her face is bronzed, shimmering, and chiseled to perfection while her fondness for a nude lip and deep smokey eye started an overnight trend.
While Kim Kardashian has a dedicated glam squad, she does a lot of her own makeup — using her own makeup. Her must-haves include the likes of foundation, contour kits, bronzer, blush, lip liner, lipstick, lip gloss, and LOTS of baking powders!
The Kardashian family are all known for their impressive makeup skills and products. Many aspire to create the makeup looks of this member of the mega-rich and famous family, and today’s article will teach you just how to do that.
Her Face
It isn’t a Kim Kardashian makeup look without a generous application of foundation. Like many other famous faces, she enjoys the La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation which she applies using an original beautyblender.
Other favorite foundations include Joe Blasco Ultrabase Foundation in the shade Olive Beige 3, Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation, Dior’s Forever Perfect Foundation, and La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Concealer + Foundation.
For concealer, Kim uses shade 7 from her KKW Beauty Liquid Concealer and bakes her under eyes using shade 2 of the KKW Beauty Baking Powder. She highlights using the four shades in her KKW Beauty Highlighter Palette.
Kim’s most essential step in her makeup routine is a sharp contour. In an interview with E! Online she says “Even when I do a natural look, I always contour” and she switches between the Dark and Medium contour sticks found in her KKW Beauty Creme Contour and Highlighter Kit to do this.
To achieve a pop of color on her cheeks Kim will often turn to a KKW Beauty Classics Shimmers Blush Palette, a NARS blush with a shimmer finish in the shade Orgasm X or the Milani Baked Blush. For bronzer, she uses the Hoola Matte Bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics as well as the Bronzer Blush Classic Duo from KKW Beauty.
Her looks are sealed and set by means of the Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation, Ben Nye’s Fair Classic Translucent Face Powder, Mac’s Prep + Prime Fix, and Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist.
Her Eyes
Since she entered the spotlight, Kim has been known for her smokey eye. Speaking to People, she says “I need my under eyes always smoked because I just feel like I look really naked without it” and goes on to say that — along with a contour — a smokey eye is her must-have.
To create the perfect smokey eye she most often uses the KKW Beauty Glam Bible Palette and the Crystalized Palette. Kim is also fond of Stila’s Liquid Glitter eyeshadow in the shade Bronze Bell.
She defines her brows using the Brow Definer by Anastasia Beverly Hills. Kim loves sharing her makeup secrets with her following and is quick to share her makeup routine.
Describing herself as a “messy mascara girl” Kim is quick to point out that her lashes are her own and she achieves her clumpy lashes with Lancome’s Hypnose Doll Lashes and Charlotte Tilbury’s Legendary Lashes. She lines her eyes using the KKW Beauty Glam Bible eyeliner.
Her Lips
When it comes to her lips, Kim keeps them muted, neutral, and nude. Her favorite shades from KKW are shades 1, 2, 3, and 6. Her favorite everyday shade is the KKW 90’s Icon Matte Lipstick but she also loves creating her own perfect ombre nude using her Creme Lipsticks in shades 1 and 2.
Before she created her own lipsticks, Kim was a huge fan of Mac Cosmetics’ Angel, NARS Cosmetics’ Belle de Jour, Urban Decay’s Vice in Stark Naked, and Maybelline’s Nude Embrace.
Kim’s lips are lined using 1.5 or 2.5 in the KKW Beauty Nude Lip Liner set and finished with just a touch of KKW Beauty Icy Pink Mini Gloss or Lust Gloss in shade 1.5.
Her Skin
It is rumored that Kim Kardashian’s skincare routine costs $4,500. She uses CosMedix’s Purity Clean Cleanser, as well as a retinol serum called Serum 16 from the same brand. Other serums used by the celebrity include Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Hyaluronic Serum, Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Longevity Concentrate and La Mer’s Genaissance, The Serum Essence, The Method, and The Concentrate.
Once finished with her serums she uses Augustinus Bader’s The Rich Cream followed by CosMedix Opti Crystal Treatment, Chanel’s L’Huile Rose Body Oil, and Ole Henrikson’s Transforming Walnut Scrub.
While Kim has publicly supported her sister, Kylie Jenner, and her range of makeup and skincare products it is not clear whether she actually uses any of her products.
