Billie Eilish has been a massively popular musician and performer since entering the scene in 2015, but who are her closest friends?
Billie Eilish has publicly admitted to losing friends since finding fame. One of her closest friends is likely her brother, Finneas, followed by Zoe Donahoe, a friend since childhood. She’s also befriended many celebrities over the years, such as Avril Lavigne and Justin Bieber.
Read on to learn more about the famous circles Billie Eilish moves in.
Young Hearts, Run Free
Billie Eilish found fame at the tender age of just thirteen. She began singing and producing music with her best-friend-brother, Finneas O’Connell. They created music at home, in a small room, and released it online to the world, to great success.
The early years shot by quickly for Billie, who rose to fame unimaginably quick. Her tracks that were released on SoundCloud became world-famous, seemingly in the blink of an eye. They were released on social media but quickly became played regularly on radio.
Her opening track, Ocean Eyes, became a huge commercial success. She signed to a record label barely a year after it was first written, and began working professionally. Her label released the track and worked on a massive, fully-fledged recording deal.
Over the following years, Eilish released numerous singles, making regular appearances at live shows or music festivals. In 2019, as part of her first studio album, Eilish wrote and released a track called Bad Guy. This single became an instant hit, jumping to number one in the United States.

It was played universally and gained Eilish an incredible level of exposure. The song was like nothing ever really heard before, with a strange beat and rhythm, and vocals that were extremely unique. The song – and album – kick-started one of Eilish’s first big tours, the When We All Fall Asleep Tour.
Friendship and Siblings
One of Billie Eilish’s closest friends is her brother. Not only do they produce, create and record her music together, but they’ve grown up extremely closely. However, their closeness did produce a slightly sensitive item of news in April of 2020.
Finneas found a girlfriend, and fans immediately began speculating that she looked extremely similar to Billie. This notion can be seen in an article written by Capital FM around the same time. It’s simply possible that it’s a sense of familiarity for Finneas, to be with someone so similar to what might be his closest friend.
Another close friend of Billie’s is Zoe Donahoe. She isn’t a celebrity but grew up with Billie too. They met when the two were very young and had similar lives. For instance, both women were homeschooled when growing up. There are many pictures of Zoe and Billie together, particularly from when they were young.
Ultimately, Billie gathered many new friends when she entered the world of stardom. Her fame, talent, and likeably, quirky personality made her a favorite among the stars. She’s befriended many celebrities, most of them in similar roles to her.
Billie Eilish has been snapped on numerous occasions hanging out with the likes of Lana Del Rey and Justin Bieber, to name two. Billie has explained that Lana Del Rey has been an influence on her own music.
Another star to make her friendship with Billie public is Ariana Grande. Billie Eilish has stated she’s a huge fan of Ariana, and actively supports her wherever she can. Given that Billie was so young and – by 2020 – had only been in the industry for a few years, she was constantly meeting her earliest influences.
However, Billie has admitted that she doesn’t want to live a life in the starlight forever. At just seventeen years of age, she explained that it was extremely tough to live in the public eye every single day.
She never had time to herself and was constantly under the microscope. She went on to detail what it was like losing friends, always having to compete with people and the pressure of fame. In an article by NME, she states, “You have to keep going. You shouldn’t be mourning them every two seconds for the rest of your life.” This is in reference to losing friends when you become famous and distracted.
