Kelly Clarkson is a well-known singer with many talents. Is playing pool one of her numerous abilities?
Kelly Clarkson can play pool, but her ability is unclear. She does not appear to play pool very often and made mistakes when she played pool against Nick Jonas.
Kelly Clarkson Struggles at Pool on TV
The Voice released a promotional video that contains a brief clip of Kelly’s humorous pool game. At 0:10 Kelly twirls the cue stick, acting like a ninja, before dropping it:
Kelly does not appear to take pool very seriously, and made jokes about her own fooling around during the game. She Tweeted that fans shouldn’t be fooled by the video, and she actually has “mad pool skillz.”
Kelly’s joking tone confirms that she does not take pool very seriously and would rather have fun playing a game. In the show she did not successfully show off her “mad pool skillz” – she sunk a cue ball in the hole and was not victorious against the skilled Nick Jonas.
In her defense, Nick Jonas appears to be a seasoned pool player. An old video shows him playing pool against his brother Joe.
Although Nick does not sink a ball into a hole in this old video, he at least has good form and makes a decent attempt. The video is likely from 2006 or so, since the song “Ms. New Booty” can be heard playing in the background at the billiards bar. Nick had many years of practice at the pool table before challenging Kelly in 2020.
Nick also seems to take pool more seriously than Kelly. He was very quiet and focused while playing pool, unlike Kelly who prefers to joke around and have fun.
There is no other footage of Kelly playing pool other than her less-than-perfect match on The Voice. She could still be an undercover pool prodigy simply hiding her talent from the public.
Pool Champion or Not, Kelly Has Had Some Massive Swimming Pools
Kelly may accidentally sink cue balls at pool, but she certainly knows how to swim! Her $7.5 Million Tennessee mansion featured a luxurious saltwater swimming pool. She sold this house in 2019.
Kelly’s Montana house seems to be her main residence after she sold the other two houses. Her home in Montana does not have a swimming pool, but instead has lots of natural farmland to be enjoyed on family horseback rides.
In the end, Kelly proves that she does not need to play or be in a pool to be happy. Billiards or luxury swimming pools are not as important to her as her music and family.
