Jennifer’s ‘Norman’ Tattoo
When you think of tattoos and Hollywood, the first people that come to your mind are probably Johnny Depp, or perhaps Miley Cyrus, but certainly not Jennifer Aniston!
Jen isn’t the wild type; she tends to stick to neutral and classic clothing, and she hasn’t even changed her gorgeous hairstyle since the early 2000s!
That being said, Jennifer Aniston got her first tattoo in 2011. This tattoo is the word ‘Norman,’ and it is placed on her right foot.
This is a very special tattoo for Jen; Norman was the name of her dog, a Welsh corgi-terrier mix, who had recently passed away, at the ripe dog-age of 15 years.
Jennifer has had four pet dogs to date, and she considers her pets to be family.
‘I never thought that would ever happen,’ she told ET Canada when speaking about getting a tattoo. ‘It’s just my way to pay homage to him… forever.’ She got a little teary when telling James Lipton the story of her tattoo and her dog, during a taping of Inside the Actors Studio.
Jennifer’s 11 11 Tattoo Meaning
Jennifer Aniston’s second tattoo is much more mysterious. It is placed on her left wrist. She seems to keep it covered with makeup at times, and her bracelets cover it at other times, so there are not many clear pictures of it available.
The tattoo says ’11 11′ which is thought to symbolise two important dates in Jennifer’s life; the first being her birthday (11 Februray) and the second being 2011 when her dog Norman died.
Does She Have A Heart Tattoo?
After starring in a few unsuccessful television shows in the early nineties, Jennifer auditioned for a role in what would become one of pop culture’s most famous sitcoms: Friends.
Jennifer Aniston initially auditioned for the role of Monica, but Courtney Cox was considered more suitable for that role and Jennifer ended up playing Rachel instead. Jennifer would then go on to immortalize Rachel as one of the most iconic female characters in American television.
Friends launched Jennifer, and her co-stars into fame; she and Matthew Perry even went on to shoot a 60-minute instructional video for the release of Microsoft’s Windows 95 OS.
In an episode of Friends called ‘The One Where Joey Moves Out,’ Rachel and Phoebe decide to get tattoos. Even though Phoebe backs out at the last minute, Rachel ends up getting a tiny heart tattoo on her hip.
This has made many fans wonder whether Jennifer has a heart tattoo in real life as well. She does not; the heart tattoo was created temporarily for the set of Friends.
Jennifer Doesn’t Like Tattoos Because of Justin Theroux
Jennifer Aniston began dating fellow actor (and director), Justin Theroux, in 2011. Things seemed to get serious rather quickly; they bought a home together soon afterwards and got engaged in 2012.
The couple were married in 2015 at their estate, but it was not meant to last; they separated at the end of 2017 and divorced soon afterwards.
While many problems drove the couple apart and led to their eventual split, sources claim that Jennifer never quite warmed up to Justin’s edgy lifestyle. ‘She doesn’t want to get on the back of a motorcycle or go to a tattoo shop,’ a source told Us Weekly when the couple split.
The two seem to be on friendly terms now though; Justin even wished her Happy Birthday recently on Instagram!
