TikTok has legitimately become the hottest social media app of the 2020s, and many influencers and content creators are gaining worldwide fame for the posts they share on it. Many celebrities seem to be riding the wave as well – is Millie Bobby Brown one of them?
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown used to have TikTok, under the username @milliebobbybrown. She was quite active on the app, posting videos of herself doing viral dance routines and the like until she deleted her account in November 2020.
Her giving up social media was her way of coping with troll comments hurled at the actress. Fans have found, though, that the Enola Holmes star seemed to have made a comeback in 2021, but was no longer under the milliebobbybrown TikTok username.
What happened to Millie Bobby Brown’s Tik Tok?
Millie used to be active on TikTok, just like many of the Gen Z app users are, posting their own videos as well as commenting on other posts. She seemed to be having fun on the app until things got dark for the Godzilla actress, who hasn’t turned 18 at the time.
She started receiving troll comments that targeted her looks and criticized almost everything about her and what she does. Also, according to her interview with Allure, she got into a toxic relationship sometime in 2020 with a TikTok creator named Hunter Ecimovic.
Millie deleted her old TikTok around November 2020, and then in January 2021, she cut ties with Hunter, which was a traumatic experience for her. Sadly, the toxicity didn’t end there as Hunter went public a few months after, claiming that he and Millie had a sexual relationship while she was a minor and that he groomed her.
Millie, in the same interview, described that experience as a public humiliation which she needed a full year to heal from. While suffering through this, she was filming Season 4 of Stranger Things, and nobody on the set knew of what she was going through.
Is Millie Bobby Brown active on other social media sites?
Along with TikTok, Millie also quit Twitter and Instagram. Her Twitter account, though, is still up with over 850,000 followers. The account was created in 2017 and her last tweet was on January 28, 2019, which says “hi. i missed u.”
Her verified accounts on Instagram and Facebook are active with 59 million and 5 million followers respectively. While her Instagram seems to be more active than Facebook, both accounts are being handled by her team. This was Millie’s way of keeping herself safe from hateful comments, which can be damaging to one’s mental health.
Since her social media “retirement,” Millie has decided to stay in touch with fans through blog writing, which she does through the blog page of Florence By Mills, the beauty brand she launched after purchasing the company in 2020.
The company sells “clean” beauty products – makeup, skincare, and hair care – which means they have no harmful ingredients and are good for all skin types. Millie promotes her company’s products on her Instagram page.
Are there other celebrities on TikTok?
We’re starting to see more Hollywood celebrities getting on TikTok, though many of them seem to need a bit more time to get used to the app. Some stars who can be considered “early adopters” include Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, BTS, Camila Cabello, Emma Chamberlain, Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, and more.
