While it is known that Vin Diesel does whatever it takes to make high quality films, his willingness to learn new languages adds to his impressive list of skills.
Vin Diesel does speak Spanish. He is not fluent by any standard, but he can speak the language in some capacity.

Vin Diesel Speaks Spanish
Regardless of his ability to speak the language, it is no secret that Vin Diesel has a deep appreciation for Spanish culture.
In his (albeit limited) down time, Vin Diesel likes to listen to Spanish music. He claims that the Spanish culture has had a big influence on him, and has even become part of his identity.
When asked if he speaks Spanish, Vin Diesel was not shy about his lacking skills. He said, “A little bit. I am not completely fluent but I can make myself understood. I think I do.”
Vin Diesel’s long-time girlfriend, Paloma Jimenez, who is also the mother of his three children, is rooted deeply into the Spanish culture.
Paloma Jimenez is a Mexican model, and her and Vin Diesel have been together since 2007.
You can see a picture of the couple in their earlier days, using the Instagram link below.
In addition to his relationship with Paloma Jimenez, Vin Diesel is an actor and producer for the movie franchise, “The Fast and the Furious,” which holds high ranks among the Latino demographic. Some of his Latino co-stars include Roberto Sanchez, Michelle Rodriguez, and Don Omar.
It is safe to say that these stars have shared some of their Latino culture with Vin Diesel, including an appearance on the 2013 Billboard Latin Music Awards with co-star Michelle Rodriguez. During the award show, Vin Diesel attempted to use some of his Spanish skills, whether they were used as entertainment or a genuine attempt to speak the language is still up for debate.
Lastly, not to mention, there is a chance that Vin Diesel is partially Latino himself. Vin Diesel identifies as a person of color, but it is unclear what ethnic background he comes from since he never knew his biological father.
Still, Vin Diesel claims his biological father was a man of color and that he embraces “many different cultures.
Using Vin Diesel to Teach Spanish
Regardless of Vin Diesel’s ability to speak Spanish, his name has recently been revealed as a mnemonic device to remember the eight irregular verb forms of the Spanish language.
The phrase goes like this, “Say Vin Diesel has ten weapons.” In Spanish, you will say, “sė ven di sal haz ten ve pon.”
The full forms of the verbs are ser (to be), venir (to come), decir (to say), salir (to leave), hacer (to do, to make), tener (to have), ver (to go), and poner (to put, to place).
They are commonly used verbs, so it is helpful to use Vin Diesel’s mnemonic device to memorize the irregular forms of the verbs.
Whether you speak Spanish or not, you can add these words to your vocabulary to be a little bit more like Vin Diesel.
