Sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid are American supermodels, both with millions of followers online.
Gigi Hadid is more popular on social media, boasting over 55 million followers on Instagram, as compared to Bella’s growing 31.9 million fanbase. Gigi reportedly has a slightly higher income, but both sisters have had great success in high-fashion modelling.

Gigi Hadid
Gigi began modelling for Baby Guess at just 2 years old, and modelling remains her major source of income after graduating to her current supermodel status.
She was on the 2017 Forbes list as one of the highest-paid models in the world, having signed with IMG models at just 17 years old.
Since then, she has walked for several famous brands including Chanel, Guess, Moschino and Versace, and launched her own campaign with Tommy Hilfiger.
She has a child with partner and British singer Zayn Malik, who was once part of the famous boy band One Direction.
The model has appeared in over 35 international covers of Vogue, and was voted International Model of the Year by the British Fashion Council in 2016.
Both sisters have walked for Victoria’s Secret campaigns, a brand which Gigi closely collaborates with and has walked three shows for.
Gigi launched her own makeup collection with Maybelline, which features a variety of lipstick shades.
Along with her sister, she has also walked in New York Fashion Week.

Bella Hadid
Despite having fewer followers than Gigi on Instagram, Bella still receives significant traction.
She first started modelling for IMG at 16 years old, and went on to model for various high-end designer brands including Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Off-White.
She collaborated with her sister on the Fenty X Savage show, and walked three Victoria’s Secret shows like her sister.
In the 2018 Instagram Rich List, she was named the “24th most lucrative Instagrammer in the world.”
She was also on Forbes’ 2018 list of highest-paid models, reaching almost the same reported income as Gigi.
The model was voted Model of the Year in 2016 on Models.com, and in the GQ Men of the Year awards.
Family Background
The sisters were famous even before they made a name for themselves in the modelling industry.
They are of Palestinian descent, born to parents Yolanda Hadid and Mohamed Hadid.
Mohammad is a billionaire real-estate developer while Yolanda is a former supermodel.
They also have a younger brother Anwar Hadid, who is a fashion model and music artist, having released his first album Bleach in 2019.
The sisters were criticized in 2018 for the many modelling opportunities they received. They were accused of having their careers handed to them, and for not working towards their success as other models had.
However, they responded insisting that they worked hard for their careers, and several other fashion models supported them.
The sisters often speak of their strong relationship. Bella said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, “There’s no reason for us to be mad at each other or competitive. So if she gets it, then good for her.”
She went on to say, “If we get booked on a job and she gets it or I get it, we’re both happy for each other.”
This is reflected in their public interactions. When walking for a New York Fashion Week show, Bella immediately stepped in and picked up Gigi’s shoe for her after she lost it.
Despite Gigi’s earnings reported to be slightly higher than Bella’s, the sisters congratulate each other on their success and maintain a strong familial bond.
