Is Jennifer Aniston In Grey’s Anatomy?

by Richard Martin

Jennifer Aniston has played many diverse roles over the years, but has she ever made an appearance on Grey’s Anatomy?

No, Jennifer has never appeared on Grey’s Anatomy. The TV show that Jennifer is famous for is, of course, Friends, but she has also done others like The Morning Show. Jennifer seems to be friends with some of the cast of Grey’s Anatomy, so perhaps that is where the confusion comes from.

Read on as we talk more about Jennifer’s TV career!

Jennifer Starred in Some Unsuccessful Shows before Friends

Jennifer started her career with several unsuccessful projects. First, she worked in some Off-Broadway productions, including Dancing on Checker’s Grave and For Dear Life. She hadn’t made it into mainstream acting at the time, so she also worked part-time; doing jobs like waitressing (just like Rachel!) and telemarketing. She did some minor – and often uncredited roles, such as in Mac and Me – before she moved to Los Angeles.

Once there, Jennifer started appearing more regularly in shows like Molloy and Ferris Bueller. Both of these were soon canceled though, so she went on to appear in some teen movies like Camp Cucamonga and Leprechaun, the latter being what critics have called her worst role to date, and Jennifer herself has expressed embarrassment over. Some other failed TV shows she then appeared in were Muddling Through and The Edge; both were comedy roles that possibly prepared her for Friends.

Friends was Jennifer’s Big Break

When Friends auditions came along, Jennifer was called in to audition for the role of Monica Gellar. It went to Courtney Cox instead, but Jennifer got her big break as Rachel Green – one of the most iconic female characters in the history of American television. Jennifer even turned down a spot on SNL to appear in Friends.

Critic loved Jennifer as Rachel just as much as audiences did; she won multiple awards for it and was nominated for many others. The ones she won included a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe. At the time, Jennifer also became the highest-paid TV actress of all time; she earned a hefty $1 million paycheck for every episode during the final season of Friends!

Jennifer Has Been Associated with the Cast of Grey’s Anatomy

Jennifer Aniston has been associated with some of the cast members of Grey’s Anatomy in more ways than one, hence the confusion. For instance, Grey’s Anatomy alumnus Jessica Capshaw was one of the many celebrities who congratulated Jennifer on her record-breaking number of followers when she first joined Instagram. “Because you’re a total DREAMBOAT!!” Jessica commented on Jennifer’s first post.

Similarly, Jennifer was meant to star alongside Grey’s Anatomy’s leading lady, Ellen Pompeo, in a movie called The Goree Girls, so the two were often mentioned side by side in the media. However, there remains a lot of uncertainty surrounding this film.

Jennifer was meant to produce it with Kristin Hahn, and the movie was meant to be about the Goree All-Girl String Band; which was one of the first all-female country groups to make it big in the 1940s. Jennifer and Kristin founded the production company Echo Films together, and have previously worked on Cake. However, The Goree Girls was shelved as a project some years ago, and there is little news as to whether it’ll ever be completed.
