American actor Vin Diesel has starred in dozens of blockbusters. But what kind of food does he like to eat when he’s not performing adventurous stunts on set?
According to available sources, Vin Diesel’s favorite food is “Italian.” Technically this is a cuisine, not a type of food, but one can imagine Diesel enjoys foods such as pizza and pasta.

Vin Diesel is not his real name
This might not come as a surprise, but the star’s mother did not name him after a variant of petroleum. His real name is Mark Sinclair, which doesn’t have nearly the same ring to it.
Vin is a twin
Vin Diesel has a fraternal twin brother, named Paul. Paul also works in the film business, but behind the scenes as a producer. The brothers also have two other siblings, Tim and Samantha.
Vin Diesel’s ethnicity is a bit of a mystery
Diesel’s mother is white, with English, German, and Scottish roots. The actor never met his father, who was a person of color. Vin himself has stated that he is “of ambiguous ethnicity.”
Vin was raised by his mother and step-father, who is African-American. The actor identifies as a person of colour.
Diesel’s acting career began by accident
When Vin was young, he, his brother, and friends broke into the Theater for the New City in Greenwich village. They were caught by the theater’s director, Crystal Field.
Fortunately for them, Crystal took the intriguing approach of offering them roles in an upcoming show, over calling the cops.
Vin Diesel enjoyed acting so much that he continued to stay involved with the theater throughout adolescence. After finishing high school, Vin went on to attend New York City’s Hunter College, where he studied creative writing, and took a screenwriting course.
Vin is into Dungeons and Dragons
Diesel has been playing D&D since he was a boy. He wrote the foreword for the commemorative book 30 Years of Adventure: A Celebration of Dungeons & Dragons.
He can breakdance
As a teenager, Vin was super into breakdancing. New York City is widely considered to be the starting point of hip hop music, which is where breakdancing originated from. He even starred in an instructional video for breakdancing. Watch it here:
He worked as a bouncer
This one is not so surprising. With Vin Diesel’s tough guy attitude on screen, it’s no wonder he found work as security at a club. Interestingly, it was this job that spurred the star to use the name Vin Diesel.
The name came from a joke within his friend circle. He was always so energetic that his friends would say he ran on diesel fuel.
Directors wanted Vin to lose his muscles
Vin got told he needed to lose muscle if he was ever going to make it in the business. It seems the actor did not heed this advice and maintained his impressive physique. Thank goodness!
He had a premonition that he would die
Vin had a premonition that he was going to die during the filming of the dangerous stunts in Furious 7. He voiced his concern to his co-star Paul Walker.
He told Walker, “If I do die, let them know what kind of brother I’ve been to you.” The pair hugged and left the set. Shortly after Paul Walker was tragically killed in a car accident.
He has three children
Vin Diesel is a doting father-of-three. He and his longtime partner Paloma Jimenez have had three kids.
His eldest daughter is called Hania Riley, his son is called Vincent, and his youngest child, a girl, is called Pauline. Vin and his partner named her in memory of Paul Walker.
